Creatine

hardore creatineAnother popular supplements among the body builders is Creatine. 
Creatine is a naturally occurring amino acid (protein building block) that's found in meat and fish, and also made by the human body in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. It is converted into creatine phosphate or phosphocreatine and stored in the muscles, where it is used for energy. During high-intensity, short-duration exercise, such as lifting weights or sprinting, phosphocreatine is converted into ATP, a major source of energy within the human body.

I am not going to describe all  the metabolism process using horrifying medical terms. What I 've explained above is far more enough. Just keep in mind that Creatine supplement helps to add some real fat free lean muscle and of course is very SAFE. But if your are suffering from renal issues or kidney problem it is not recommended.


How To Use It

As most of the Creatine supplements include their own consumption procedure on its label, though you can follow this: REMEMBER TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER (3-4 ltrs in a day) TO AVOID DEHYDRATION AND MUSCLE CRAMPS!!! 


  1. For the first 5 days (loading phase), mix 5 gram of Creatine with 8 o.z (250 ml approx- a medium glass used in daily base) of water and consume 4 times daily.
  2. After 5 days now you are in maintenance phase. In this phase mix 5 gram of Creatine with 8 o.z of water and consume twice daily 


When To Use It

Creatine can be used in various ways- pre workouts, post workout, nightly supplements. Its better to follow the instruction on the relative Creatine products. In some products there is no such labels attached. In that case:

  1. In loading phase- use as pre and post-workout supplement. You can consume another 10 gm in day time( between 2-4 pm) and at night before going to bed by splitting into half. 
  2. In maintenance phase- its better to consume after your workout and before going to bed exceeding not more than 10-15 gram per day.
How much is 5 gram

As we have no weighing machine in our home, it is pretty much confusing what exact is 5 gram. You can take this much as 5 gram approximately as shown in side figure.
